โ Hey, I hope all is good. Test this with me! So an Editing app called Klap reached out to me to test drive their Editing tool. Their promise: "Create Reels, YT Shorts, TikToks from your long videos in just one click."So I thought why just me? Why don't I invite YOU to test it with me! So far I am impressed but I'd like to know how you find it. The tool will grab your videos and turn them into short-form videos complete with captions, b-roll and emojis (if you want them) This is a big timesaver (thanks AI) So try this right now either with your own talking head video file or youtube link (it will reframe you into the right format) OR if you don't have a clip handy simply post a link to to this YouTube video below. For speed just copy this link as an example:
Go and Paste it on ๐ this page.โ So I generated captions, said yes to emoji's and to Broll (optional) and it broke down the video into several self-contained shorts. You can then edit on a timeline, chop words from the script, change the style and export (may require full version) So go give it a spin, just copy this link example or add your own video! It's 100% free to test - no credit card required.
Go and Paste it on ๐ this page.โ Free studio ๐ฎ I noticed the email service I use Kit now has a bookable Video/Podcast studio FREE for Kit customers in Idaho (Chicago & NYC coming soon), bookable either 6 or 12 hours per month depending on your plan. Let's hope they might consider London UK :) This is a great way to add a subscriber perk to a software business and for retention. So I realise you may not be a multi-million $ company who can provide this level of a freebie, but don't discount having a simple vertical studio (vertical will save you floor space) for clients to quickly shoot their own vertical short-form content and mention your brand. It could be just a couple of lights, a tripod with a phone holder and a suitable backdrop (maybe branded) to encourage social sharing of your business. So you could set this up at your speaking events or for example in your beauty or fitness studio (or clients premises). Composition tip I just returned from a long weekend in Edinburgh. Only a 4.5 hour train from London and well worth a visit! This is a still frame but the tip applies to video too. I took the shot 40 mins down the coast from the city. The tip: Use the rule of thirds, (see below) the rock is roughly a third from the left, the sea is a third from the top, and using the converging lines of the path, it leads your eye to the main point of interest. Go away wind Speaking of outdoors, wind noise is a pain with compact cameras where the microphones are exposed. I just had refurbished an old Canon G7X Mark one I never use (I much prefer my iPhone 16Pro) and loaned it to my daughter who is experimenting with vlogging. I bought a cheap rubber case on Amazon to protect it (the protuding lens mechanism is fragile) PLUS an adhesive wind muff (multi-pack) to cut out noise issues on windy days that can wreck videos. You can use these on many devices. It does remind me of a troll after a haircut :) Speak soon, Jules โVideoHeroโ โ โ โ โ โ โ โ
